Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL launched in India by Microsoft

The Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL smartphones has now launched in India officially and at a very affordable prices that was announced in Mobile World Congress held last month. The company in past acquired Nokia’s handset division in USD 7.2 Billion in 2014. At that time company  was having only single  4G smartphone only Lumia 638 in Indian market. The company already announced that it is having many 4G devices in their portfolio just a single step away as soon as infrastructure is ready it will bring more 4G devices in the market one by one. The company plans is to launch more 4G devices very soon after the high speed Internet service will be ready in the country.

After this success many competitors in the market has launched the 4G devices in the market. Airtel and Aircel are the only two operators that offering 4G services in many parts of the company at a line price of Rs. 10,000. The operators launched many devices like Lenovo A6000 and Lenovo A7000, Yu’s Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G. Meanwhile Microsoft launched Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL in India officially at an affordable prices of  Rs 11,999 and Rs 15,799 . Lumia 640 will be available at Flipkart and Lumia 640 XL will be available exclusively at retail stores.

Director (South) of Microsoft Mobile Devices TS Sridhar own words : “Consumers today are constantly looking for a device to bring them more flexibility to switch easily between work and play. The Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 640 are the completely perfect devices that are enablers of productivity, boosting the 9 to 5 myth by letting you achieve more on your own terms”.

The features of Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL are almost same.

  • Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim
  • Both have 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor
  • Lumia 640 has 2500mAh battery. On the other hand Lumia 640 XL has 3000mAh battery life.
  • The display varies in Lumia 640 its 5-inch and Lumia 640 XL has 5.5-inch 720p HD display protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
  • Both have 1GB RAM with 8GB storage and having 128GB expandability
  • Both are having Dual SIM support with HSPA+.
  • Camera Features varies : Lumia 640 has 0.9MP front snapper and 8MP rear shooter while other has 5MP front snapper and 13MP rear shooter.
