There have been a large number of Smartphone devices that have been launched in 2014, with some highly priced phones among them. However, if one was to think for the common people who are not able to afford such expensive Smartphone devices, and have to contended with low budget phones, two of the best inexpensive Smartphone devices that come to mind are the Motorola Moto E and Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Now, the question arises about which is the better among the two, and this has led to a Low Budget Smartphone Fight between Moto E and Redmi 1S. Let’s compare the two phones to determine the better among the two.


Design, Look and Appearance

The Moto E has a design quite similar to the Moto G with dimensions measuring 124.80mm X 64.80mm X 12.30mm, and weighs about 142 grams. On the other hand, the dimensions of the Redmi 1S measures 137.00mm X 69.00mm X 9.90mm and weighs about 158 grams. Moto E wins over Redmi 1S in terms of feel and experience, but the latter has a better look and appearance.


The Moto E has a 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 540X960 pixels whereas Redmi 1S has a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 720X1280 pixels. However, in terms of color saturation and the overall display quality indoors or outdoors, Redmi 1S falls behind Moto E by miles.


The Moto E comprises of a 1.2 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor powered by a 1GB RAM, whereas the Redmi 1S is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 processor coupled with 1GB RAM. However, there is not much difference between the performances of the two. The Redmi 1S has a high boot-speed, but slows down while multi-tasking, whereas Moto E takes a pretty long time to boot, but is pretty smoth while accessing multiple applications at the same time. However, there is a vast difference in terms of storage memory. The Moto E comes with a meager 4GB of internal storage memory with an expandable limit of 32GB in comparison to the massive 8GB of internal storage memory with an expandable limit of 64GB.

Battery Backup

The Moto E comes with a 1980mAh battery in comparison to the 2000mAh battery of the Redmi 1S, but the battery life of the Moto E is much more, and it also takes lesser time to charge than its adversary. Hence, Moto E is a hands-down winner in this department.


There is very stiff competition between the two devices during a Low Budget Smartphone Fight between Moto E and Redmi 1S, as there are certain areas where Moto E emerges the winner like in terms of battery life and sleek design, whereas Redmi 1S wins in terms of storage memory offered and the camera quality. However, when opting for the best device in between the two, it is best to opt for the Motorola Moto E as it is also being launched with the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop Operating System.
